Parents in Prayer
Parents and grandparents are invited to
join us as we gather weekly to pray on behalf of the students, staff, and families of
Neighborhood. This support is vital as Neighborhood seeks to honor the Lord in every area
of this ministry. We know scripture says that unless the Lord builds the house (or
school), its builders labor in vain. Please contact the office for days and times of this
weekly prayer. Of course, if you are unable to attend these meetings, you may request a
prayer list so you and your family can offer prayer support at home.
Neighborhood Builders
Please consider joining the Neighborhood Builders Team. This special
group of Friends and Family Members of Neighborhood contribute annually or on a monthly
basis to help build the ministry at Neighborhood. For more information contact the office
at 707-678-9336, or email our Business
Administrator
SCRIP Program
Signing up to be an E-Script member and
purchasing SCRIP is a way that Neighborhood provides extra funds for materials that
enhance classroom learning. It is an easy way to make an impact in the classrooms at no
cost to you. SCRIP certificates for local businesses are available in the school office.
Please call the school office @ 678-9336 for further information.
Neighborhood Olympics
We held our first Neighborhood Olympics on the school grounds on
Saturday, October 14. This was a fun-filled event for the entire family. Students were
able to bless their school by registering for the Neighborhood Olympics and by listing
potential sponsors on their registration form. Each registered student received an Olympic
T-shirt, a meal ticket, participation in the events, and access to the fun activities
during the day. We had an exciting and energetic event! CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE!
Food-A-Thon
The Spring Food-A-Thon is a canned food
drive covering the entire city of Dixon. It benefits the needy in our community, as well
as helps to raise funds for Neighborhood that will enhance the school. Through this event,
Neighborhood students also learn how to become productive Christian citizens by serving
others.
In the first part of the Food-A-Thon,
students seek sponsors to pledge money to Neighborhood for the cans collected. This
pledging time lasts for two weeks but is a crucial part of the program. There are lots of
fun rewards that can be earned by both the classroom and individual students.
In the second part of the Food-A-Thon,
grocery bags and advertisement sheets will be dropped at the doorstep of each house in Dixon
by the students and families of Neighborhood. On the following day, canned foods will be
collected and taken to our Dixon Community Food Bank.
Volunteers are needed to help in a variety
of areas: charting the students progress in obtaining sponsors, contacting businesses who
might be interested in the advertisements, collating the advertisements and stapling them
on the bags, driving for the bag and advertisement drop, and picking up the donated food
items.
Staff Encouragers
Parents encouragers are needed to
anonymously encourage individual staff members with prayer support, notes, and/or small
gifts. (There should be very little cost involved.) It is the goal of Parents in Prayer to
have at least one encourager for each staff member. Please let the office know if you are
interested in this ministry.
