Sixth Grade Testimonies!
. . April  2001

In preparation for the Mexico Outreach, the sixth graders prepared their testimonies. As parents and staff, we were so impressed by their willingness to share their testimonies and the conviction and intensity of what they shared with the Mexican children and adults was so powerful. Mickey, Pato's son, translated for the students and he (at only 10 years old) did a fantastic job! We have listed here many of the testimonies.

Testimony

When I was very little, about five or six, maybe four, I first really realized who God was. My mom has a firm belief in the Lord, and it was her faith that partly inspired mine.

I was baptized at the age of six. Then I seriously wanted a personal relationship with Christ. I was baptized because my mother was diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia . She needed brain surgery, a very risky surgery, and she wanted to see me baptized.

During this time I really only had God to depend upon. My dad was there, but not like my mom was.

A few years later, my athsma became very serious. Almost every night I would wake up, choking, and gasping for air. I could not breathe. This lasted a few months. Again my life, just to survive, depended wholly on my Heavenly Father.

Not long after this period passed, my father divorced my mother. This time, instead of putting my trust in God, I went into a deep denial and depression. Soon however, I realized that God was and is in control of all things.

Now my mother has remarried, and I have an even firmer relationship with God than ever.

I accepted Christ into my life when I was about five years old. I remember sitting in church and the pastor called anyone who wanted to become a Christian up to the front. I decided that, after hearing him talk about being a Christian, I wanted to become a follower of the Lord and have the joy that he talked about. So I walked up to the front and prayed a simple prayer to accept Christ into my heart.

Just recently at church the children's pastor called up all the kids who were Christians and wanted to rededicate there lives to God. I went up and rededicated my life to God . I have been a Christian living with Christ in my heart ever since.

When I was about three years of age, my mom kept on telling me about Jesus, even though I didn’t understand. My mom put me in a Bible study called Awana, which I like a lot. A couple of weeks later they talked about Jesus, and on that day I finally understood that Jesus offers a gift of eternal life. After Awana was over for that week, I asked my mom about Jesus and his free gift to us.

That night I accepted Jesus in my heart, and my life has been changed ever since. I have gone through a lot of hard times, and God has helped me with everyone. When my dad died, I was very sad and got into some bad stuff, but I recommitted my life to Jesus. Even though the Devil has put things in my way, I am maturing in God.

I accepted Jesus into my life when I was about six or seven years old. I was with my grandma. We used to go to church every Sunday. I used to bring my coloring books and we used to sing songs. As I got older my grandma started to get worried about me and the people I hung out with. So, one day at church, they were having a time where people could go up to the front and accept Jesus into their hearts. So my grandma wanted me to have Jesus in my heart and I kind of wanted him in my heart too. I prayed to Jesus and he became my Lord and Savior and forgave me of my sins. That is how I became a Christian, and from then on I’ve been a kid of the Lord. Though I still make mistakes, I know that the Lord forgives me as I confess my sins to him. My heart’s desire is to see my family be saved and belong to the Lord.

When I was very young I went to church regularly . My family were Christians, but I wasn’t a Christian yet. Once when I was five years old my mom started to talk to me about God. She asked me if I wanted to accept Christ into my life. I said, “yes.” I asked Jesus to come into my life and forgive my sins. I admitted that I was a sinner and I wanted to follow Him as Lord and Savior.  We talk about Jesus a lot in our family now, and we also pray. I’m also learning about God at school. I have learned a lot about God from reading the Bible and listening to my family.

When I was just about 4 years old, my Kindergarten teacher prayed with me to become a Christian. Though all I knew about Jesus was about Mary and Joseph. I started to learn more over the years. I learned about Adam and Eve, Joseph, Joshua, Samuel, Saul, David, Ruth, Moses, Noah, and many more. I wanted to keep learning more.

Soon in the 3rd grade, Mrs.Dybdahl taught me the truth on a lot of things. She taught me about Jesus saying,” Yet though Jesus didn’t have to, he died for us. He did it for our sins. If he didn’t die, there would be worse things in the world than there is now! Nails on his arms, just for us!” I was going to cry, but I didn’t. I went to my teacher and said,” Mrs. Dybdahl, there is something missing in my life, and I want that to be filled.” She nodded and we prayed. As I walked to my seat, I felt as though an angel was lifting me higher to God. Ever since that day, I stopped living for myself. Each day I pray, I feel the Lord inside me.

When I was about the age of three or four I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I was at my Sunday school, talking to my teacher, Mrs. Thompson about having the Lord in my heart because of the lesson we learned about that day. She told me that I need to trust in the Lord with all my heart and soul, believe that Jesus died for my sins on the cross and washed my sins away, and have faith in the Lord, too. After church I prayed and asked Christ in my life, He became my Lord and Savior. I also confessed that I am a sinner.   Just as 1 John 1:19 says, “If we confess our sins he is faithful and just and will forgive us, and purify us from all unrighteousness.”  Each day of my life, from then on, I have been growing stronger in the Lord . I want to continue to grow stronger in the Lord because I love Him very much!

When I was about 5, I was lying in bed and I asked how you can live with Jesus. My Dad explained how it worked. I had listened to a lot of the stories about when Jesus was on earth. I thought he was powerful and trustworthy, and I thought he could be my personal Savior and save me from my sins. I was glad to have him in my heart.

About the time I had become a “Born Again” Christian, my Mom and Dad got divorced. It was a hard time for us. In that case, we needed more faith in God. I got closer to Jesus by my faith in him. When I turned eight, I knew fully what is needed to live with God forever. I read the Bible and prayed more, and I felt closer and comforted to be with Jesus. I knew he was with me.

I accepted Christ into my life when I was 4 or 5 years old. My dad is a Pastor and taught me a lot about God. Then one night my sister wanted to accept Christ into her life. So my mom went into her room with my sister and prayed a simple prayer with her. Then I watched her and I knew she had something that I didn’t. I talked with my mom and dad and wanted to ask Christ to live in me.  After I asked Jesus into my life I began to learn more about Him through church and school. After a few weeks I was Baptized, and my mom and dad got me a special necklace that reminds me of Christ. I am going to keep praying and learning about God so I can tell people who don’t know about Him that He loves them and wants us to spend eternity with Him.

I was born and raised in a Christian home, but I didn’t understand about Jesus until later on. Before I had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, I was doing so many wrong things without knowing it.

Then, finally, one day, I accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of my life. I was about five years old. My sister, Melody, prayed with me that day, and I have been following Jesus as Lord and Savior of my life ever since. One of my favorite verses is Galations 3:28. “There is neither Jew nor Greek, Slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. ”

This verse means that anyone can have eternal life no matter how they look. I am still maturing in my faith even when times are really hard.

When I was about four years old I accepted Jesus into my life. I was going to church and my parents taught me about Jesus. So through them I accepted him into my life. I prayed a simple prayer and asked Jesus to forgive me of my sins and He became my Lord and Savior.

I have been trying to trust in him since then . One thing that has has helped me is once when I had lost my scissors I prayed and asked him to help me find them . The next morning they were laying beside my bed. Even though that is a small thing it helps me trust in him to provide or help me when I need him too. I want to continue to pray and trust in Him.

“Dear lord,” I prayed after school one day in Kindergarten. “I want to follow you and become closer to you.” My mom and my teacher helped me become a follower of God. My mom especially helped me say that prayer that helped me become closer to God. I still to this day am maturing in God. I still don’t do the right things or make the right decisions all the time, but God is helping me to become a better follower in him.

Psalms 27:8
My heart says of you,”Seek his face!” your face, I will seek.
