| . | . | BACKGROUND: I am the pastor of the trajectory and presbytery ordenation for the Church of the Nazarene in Mexico. My wife and I graduated from the Hispanic-American Nazarene Seminary, in the city of San Antonio Texas, in 1978. We have now completed 22 years in the pastoral ministry and pastored 4 churches, the most recent of which we have led for the past 3 years. In 1978 we planted a church in La Paz, Southern Baja California, where we ministered for 4 years. Then we moved to Ensenada, Mexico, a city of 400 thousand inhabitants, and there we pastored a church for one year, began this church and left it already established. Then we took the next church, where we pastored for 14 years. After this we felt the calling to work in a rural area, and we moved to the area of Maneadero, 20 minutes from the city of Ensenada. We began our current church with 5 adults and 7 children; now, after 3 years, we have 45 adults and 35 children who attend church regularly. In actuality, we have dedicated our entire family for the ministry of the Lord. I minister as the primary pastory. My wife Ada Luz is an elementary-aged Sunday school teacher and works in evangelism. Our daughter Indra Cessia has been a missionary for 3 years and works with YWAM. Sarvia Iris and Giezi Zuriel lead worship at the church. MINISTRY AND VISION OF THE CHURCH: Our vision is to be part of a 100% missionary church, and to take the gospel to the indigenous people who work in the fields; they come from the state of Oaxaca, Mexico, which is in southern Mexico, about 4500 kilometers away, and emigrate here. Our churchs work is transcultural, because the Oaxacan Indians have different customs from ours. Many of them only speak Mixteco, Zapoteco or Triquil, and there are about 15 to 20 variations, or dialects, within each of these languages. In addition to this new ministry, God has given us the vision to serve these people in another way: to teach them to read Spanish. Many of their children can not attend state school because they can not afford it. We hope to create an educational system for indigenous children that will give them the opportunity to study without costing too much money. For this reason we want to construct a school especially for indigenous children located near their homes. We are praying to God that He would supply the necessary funds that will allow us to complete this project, where we will also be able to teach children the spiritual principles of the Bible and reach their parents with the gospel.
